Well, I am only angry. I am angry at this apathetic government and its high flown words and promises which it has no intention of keeping. Remember, how the venerable PM had said "Such terror tactics will not be tolerated" after the serial train blasts at Mumbai last year and just a few days later, had invited the scessionist groups for 'talks' across the table? Today, the dichotomy is such that the government is trying to use 'Gandhigiri' with the terrorists, but they forget that they do not have the stature or the farsighted intelligence of Gandhi, neither is it the British government that they are dealing with, which was probably selfish but at least accessible and reasonable enough to understand the power of non-violence, and finally, that this is not happening in the backdrop of a global crisis situation like the World War II. I am angry at this myopic, self-serving, minority appeasing, weak, inept government. Now that the terrorists have stormed the bastions of the global rich and powerful, the govt government and opposition are making a show of standing united. They are doing this not because they care, but because they are again thinking of saving their own skins. You think they would have bothered, had the terrorists stormed, say, just the CST, or the Chowpatty, or even the Fashion Street that is thronged by the common man like you and me? Think again!

It's really the worst times through which India as well as Mumbai is going through. Well, I like many other Indian citizens hope with this terrible attack people like RAJ and parties like MANSE should understand the real cause for which they should divert their strength and energy i.e., protecting the country and fighting terrorism..., not in dividing the country and causing terrorism. Where are they now?Hats off to all those who really put in their best to overcome the situation without caring for their life or near and dear ones and not even thinking once that "they are NOT MAHARASHTRIAN..then why save Mumbai"???

Just inrtospect yourself. You like thousands of other folk, may have scanned the channel, heard bastard commentory, witnessed channel wars, may have accounted death toll, may even have a shed of tear in eyes and sense of belongingness in heart, may have felt little down and dejected while viewing these stuff. But, at the end of the day, you may have convinced yourself and concluded - No- it is not my family member or my kith and kin. It will certainly not touch my city, my place, my existence.

If viewing those unmindful acts with attention, watching bastard channel anchors, who are not hesitant to take commercial breaks between their coverage to make you see Karina and Saif with one brand of Dish TV, grasping each word delivered by our coward and opportunist political fraternity and concluding the entire incident a fine live coverage, then I am sorry my friend- we are destined to be killed by some at their will.

This is high time- vote Mr Narendra Modi for becoming next PM. He being PM, will clear all these weeds.

Yes, the Mumbai terrorist attack is the ugliest and most shameful thing to happen. God knows how many innocents are killed, how many children must have suffered and what psychological effect it must have caused on the survivors. I think it's time for Emergency rule in India.

We are not just sitting ducks, we have no value for human life, we never had. How many of us remember as to the number of people who perished in the Bombay train blasts, but the whole World knows that 57 people lost their lives in UK blasts three years back.
It is the problem with our laidback attitude that in spite of having a volatile situation at hand, we are never prepared .

We are soft targets because we do not retaliate. Take the example of Israel, how they respond if something happens to their citizens.I believe its the politicians who have brought the nation to this level. Have you ever heard that any politician has been killed in a terror attack and when something happens to them, we just free the terrorists. The life of the daughter of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is more important than the others. Why can't we take decisive action against Pakistan. Our politicians don't want to do so because then the politics of vote bank and appeasement will disappear and lalus, mayawatis, mulayams will have nothing to do. However, the citizens will understand the game plan and may be in the next decade we will have courage to respond in the same manner as Israel does.

Of course, Indians are sitting ducks for terror groups. But then, that is not very surprising because as a race, we Indians are incredibly fatalistic and like to leave everything to God, including our lives. And, politicians and our netas being one of us, what more can one expect from them? Just take a look at one example. The US of A had one terror attack and there hasn't been anymore attacks after that, even though there have been threats galore from various terror outfits. I am sure, the FBI and CIA have been quietly going about in their trademark style, eliminating terror suspects, freezing their accounts, stopping flow of funds to these groups, or maybe, even negotiating with them to take their terror tactics, elsewhere in the world, in return for being given a free run. As for Osama, maybe he has been given a lifelong annuity that allows him to lead a comfortable life and surface from oblivion now and then and mouth some profanities and threats against the rest of the world and disappear again for a few months. And, what about us? Well, we haven't even been able to hang Afzal Guru, let alone track down other terrorists. At the risk of sounding stupid, I think we should get into a deal with the CIA to train our Intelligence sleuths, especially regarding lessons in how to stay physically fit!You do not really expect a potbellied constable to run after a terrorist and catch him, even after he has been seen planting a bomb!

I fully agree with the views expressed in the blog, however we as citizens are responsible for it. It doesnt bother us because it is not related to an individual. The common citizen never thinks in a nationalist way and this is the reason why these members of Parliament are behaving like commodities, whosoever pays a higher price can get them. The Supreme Court is also responsible for this. In the infamous JMM case they did not punish Shibu Soren because the act was committed in Parliament. That leads us to believe that you can take money in Parliament to switch sides. I think it will take another fifty years when people will just boycott these shameless creatures and they will be doomed to live in agony. Till then we will hear such stories.

As regards the article in The Hindu, let me share an interesting fact with you. A small news item appeared in the Economic Times a few days back, I do not remember the date now, but it said that the Chinese government has been carrying out an extensive PR exercise especially for the Indian journalists. The PR exercise consists of flying a posse of Indian journos, executive class, to China and providing them with five-star bed and breakfast, of course, followed by three-course lunches and five-course dinners, which ultimately results in eulogising words for China vis-a-vis Tibet in the leading Indian newspapers. The editor of The Hindu, it seems, has been at the receiving end of this hospitality rather frequently and hence, the article.

As far as the Left parties are concerned, they really have little else to hold on to, except China, to justify and propagate their ideology. No wonder then that they are singing paeans about China and equating it to the issue of Kashmir. And, I do have a serious contention with the world community, especially the political community, as a whole. Why is it that, today on the eve of the Beijing Olympics, the whole world has suddenly started shedding tears at the plight of the Tibetans? The stand-off between China and Tibet has existed since I was only knee-high, and yet the International Olympic Committee did hand over the Olympics to China on a platter. And let me tell you, all this brouhaha about Tibet will die its natural death once the Olympics are over and the hapless Tibetans shall again be left in the wilds to fend for themselves. Such is the hypocrisy of this world!
